Carrying on Mac’s legacy of creating strong future leaders in today’s local youth thanks to the support of our community.

The McEldowney Academic Scholarship Fund continues its now decades-long partnership with educators, local businesses, and like-minded individuals such as you. We are preparing for the 21st annual Mac’s Irish Bash, our sole fundraising event, and ask that you please consider making a tax deductible donation of goods, services, or a financial contribution. We could not succeed in our mission to empower students to pursue their academic dreams without the continued support and partnership of thousands of individuals and local businesses that contribute to Mac’s Fund.

The McEldowney Academic Scholarship Fund was established following the passing of Dick “Mac” McEldowney. The overwhelming outpouring of love and generosity from our community was a reflection of Mac’s impact throughout his life, and we committed ourselves to carrying on his legacy by investing in the future of local youth in our Blair County community.

Since its inception in 2003, Mac’s Fund has awarded nearly $375,000 in scholarships to college bound seniors from ten Blair County high schools—24 scholarships totaling $24,000 last year alone.

Our 21st annual Mac’s Irish Bash will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona from 6 to 11 PM. For ticket information, contact us at info@macsfund.org.

Please share with your friends and patrons the mission of Mac’s Irish Bash and ask them to join us in partnership by making a contribution. A charitable donation can go a long way to help us continue awarding scholarships to local high school seniors. Your generosity can make a significant difference in creating a lasting impact on future generations within our community.
